T-shirt Quilt Class

Many of you have asked how to make a T-shirt quilt, so this class is for you.

Gather up your washed T-shirts, fusible woven interfacing and we will help you learn to make a t-shirt quilt. [We have a bolt of Fusible interfacing as recommended by the instructor in the shop so all you will really need is your T-Shirts]

You can make whatever size you need as long as you have enough t-shirts to do so.  If you are short on shirts you can add filler blocks from plain or printed fabrics to get to the desired size -this makes a lovely quilt too.

We will show you several design and based on your t-shirts you can decide what your finished quilt top will look like.

The main thing that we will be concentrating on is deciding the size block that you need to cut and getting them stabilized and ready to make a quilt.  Later you will need batting, backing, and possibly sashing material but you won't need them for this class. This class' focus is JUST on assembling the T-Shirts into the top of the quilt.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Will be using a straight stitch through out the class
Requirements: You will need to bring your sewing machine and sewing kit (Scissors, thread etc) and t-shirt and your stabilizer
Instructor: Celestin Webb
Instructor Bio: My name is Celestin Webb, my husband and I grew up in Idaho and my 4 daughters grew up in Georgia and Utah. Crane Navy Base has landed us in Indiana and we love the green rolling hills. I learned to sew at a young age and quilt at a less young age. I had a lucky meeting with a master quilter in 2003 who took me under her wing and coached me into loving quilting! While we lived in Utah I happened across an add for a quilt instructor at the base where my husband worked and thought I would give it a try. I found some of my best friends, a great supportive community and had lots of laughs as we learned quilting together. They stretched my ability and kept me growing and learning as a quilter.
