Binding Class 101

This class will teach the fundamentals of machine binding and hand binding.
If you have problems with your corner miters or just have wonky binding, this will teach you how to have a straight and even binding with perfect mitered corners.
Requirements:
Prepare 3 quilted sample quilts 15 inches square.
Directions: Cut your squares at 15 1/2 inches. You can use muslin for your top and backing or fabric of your choice.
Cut 15 1/2 inch cotton batting for your layers to be quilted.
After quilting, square the quilt to 15 inches. Simple quilting will do.
(Meandering or straight line quilting)
Fabric Requirements: (Based on 45" wide fabric).
Muslin or other fabric of choice- 1 1/2 yards.
Batting-3 each 15 1/2 inch squares.
Binding fabric-1/2 yard binding fabric.
Machine:
-In good working order, that you are familiar with and have used successfully.
-Do not forget your foot control, power cords and manual.
-Piecing foot and a walking foot if you have one.
-Wide toe foot will work or if you have the feature of "even feed" on your machine.
Tools:
-15-16 inch Square Ruler (optional-you can square up with a cutting mat markings)
-A small ruler with a 45 degree angle
-Rotary cutter and cutting mat, Pressing mat, Small iron
-Thread 50 or 60 weight
-80/12 top stitch or universal needle,
-Staight pins or clips
-Air erasable or water soluble marker pen.
-Hand sewing needle. Needle threader if you need it.
-Any other tools you wish to work with.
