Janie grew up on a farm in the Rocky Mountains. Her first experience with art was creating cute characters with salt dough and stitching felt shapes together to make Christmas ornaments. At the age of eight, she took her first art classes sponsored by the school district. Color became her obsession after learning to paint with watercolor and pastels. She finds inspiration for her artwork in the surrounding landscape. She loves old barns, pioneer homes, farm animals, birds, wildlife, flowers, vintage cars, trucks and rusted out farm equipment. Next to art, she loves camping, fishing, gardening and hiking the Rockies the most. Wanderlust still invites Janie to explore nature in all seasons. Using her own reference photos and samples gathered in nature such as berries, leaves and twigs, she paints eye catching designs filled with light. Janie's art can be found licensed as jigsaw puzzles, fabric, gifts and home decor products.
