The Quilter's Trek is an International Shop Hop that runs from 21 June through 8 September 2020. 
Due to the COVID-19 Situation, the rules for this year have changed! This year we are allowed to sell kits through the mail!

This is the FOURTH year the Indiana Quilt Depot has participated in the Row by Row Experience.

This year, 2020, the Row by Row has changed substantially! What follows is the major changes:

-        The first major change is that the name has changed!!!! It will be known from now on as the Quilter’s Trek. This was done to more accurately reflect the fact that the Challenge is, in essence, a HUGE, international SHOP-HOP requiring the Patterns/Kits to be obtain by PHYSICALLY Visiting EACH SHOP.…

-        Unfortunately, like most things in today’s world, COVID19 has required a change of operation. This year, KITS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE SOLD OVER THE INTERNET. The free patterns/instructions however STILL must be PHYSICALLY picked up in the SHOP.

-        With the Name Change came a change in the THEME. Instead of a theme as such, the change has been made to focus on a COLOR theme. This was done in hopes that the different patterns and kits from the various shops might more readily coordinate those from other shops thus making it easier for the participants to assemble them into a quilt without clashing.  This year’s theme is “TRUE BLUE”. The Kits prepared by each shop feature BLUE Fabrics.

-        The original requirements of the shop kits were that they finish to a 9x36 inch ROW. Last year those requirements were changed a little bit opening up the creativity of the shops. This however presented some challenges assembling the various kits SO, it has returned more to the basics… This year’s kits are comprised of FOUR (4) 9-Inch Blocks (finished size) that can be assembled as either a 9x36 ROW (original configuration of the Experience) or a 18x18-inch Block or the individual blocks can be dispersed throughout the finished quilt with those of other shops…

-        Another change is the inclusion (While supplies last) of special tokens in the kits. Each region has seven tokens to be collected. Each shop has a certain number of special GOLDEN tokens interspersed among the kits.

-        There are more chances to WIN. Each Store will have TWO (2) winners. And, the tradition continues of a SPECIAL Prize if your winning entry uses the Stores Design…

One of the underlying themes of the Row by Row was for the shops to attempt to add a local flavor or color to their Rows. With this in mind, that the Indiana Quilt Depot has ALWAYS incorporated an INDIANA STAR BLOCK into ours. This year is no exception. Our ROW this year consists of FOUR (4) using TWO (2) different versions of the Indiana Star.. The Blocks in our kit are made using ALL Blue fabrics from the Northcott DEEP BLUE SEA color wave of the Shimmer metallic collection. Each Kit will include the fabrics to complete two block of each of the two patterns.
